Your voice matters: contact David Lammy
We have a rare opportunity to make real change to the way criminal records are handled in England and Wales.
David Lammy – a long time supporter of criminal records reform – is now the Secretary of State for Justice.
But with hundreds of urgent demanding his attention, we need to make sure criminal records reform does not get overlooked. He needs to hear from people like you, to understand how vital and urgent this change is.
In June, Sir Brian Leveson’s Independent Review of the Criminal Courts recommended reforming the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act so that cautions and convictions for low-level offences don’t hold people back for life. This is the change we need – and it won’t happen unless David Lammy can see there is public pressure.
Use the form below to write a personal letter to David Lammy, urging him to listen to and act on Sir Brian’s recommendations. Together, we can secure a fresh start for our criminal records system.
